It’s Stoptober again, and time to stop smoking for good.

So why not use hypnotherapy to give up smoking?

What was it like when you started smoking?

You’ll probably remember your very first cigarette. Most likely it was completely horrible – that awful taste of the smoke as it filled your mouth, the sore throat, the nausea, the whirling head, the coughing. Why does anyone ever smoke more than one cigarette?

Well, at the time you probably wanted to appear cool, and fit in with your mates. You might have been rebelling against parents who told you not to smoke. Perhaps you were bored and needed something to do. That conscious desire was so strong that you were determined to ignore your poor unconscious mind, which was doing its best to make you stop. The cough, the sickness, the filthy taste – all desperate attempts by your body and your unconscious mind to make the experience so bad that you’d just – stop smoking, before you really began.

Didn’t work though, did it?

There’s no reason to smoke any more

So here you are, still smoking. The old need to fit in, or rebel, or find something to do, has long gone. But the cigarettes hijacked everything you did, and made you believe that you couldn’t do without them. They took over your work, rest and play, and convinced you that there was no pleasure to be had without a cigarette. Like an unscrupulous friend, they whispered ‘Stick with me and you’ll feel on top of the world, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing.’ And like a parasite, they tightened their grip even when you finally realised that the deal they’re offering is good only for the tobacco companies.

The smoking habit

You consciously kept smoking – kept coughing and spluttering and feeling sick – because you wanted to. And you kept on smoking until a part of you eventually took it over, and it became a habit – something you did automatically, without even thinking about it.

Give up smoking with hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can help you find other ways of satisfying the need for a cigarette, while helping you with techniques to manage any cravings. Often it can take just one 2-hour session for you to stop smoking and become a non-smoker.

  • You can stop smoking however long you’ve been trapped by them.
  • You can give up however much you think they relax you (Did you know that nicotine is a stimulant? Just take a deep breath instead.).
  • You can enjoy life without a cigarette. (How many of the cigarettes you smoke do you REALLY enjoy?)
  • You don’t have to smell (you know you do, don’t you?)
  • Your family can stop worrying about that cough (so can you)

Even with hypnotherapy, you’ve got to REALLY want to give up. By giving you techniques to manage cravings, and talking directly to your unconscious mind, hypnotherapy can help you to stop smoking more easily than you ever thought possible.

Stoptober 2019 – it’s time to stop smoking and feel GREAT.
