Trauma and PTSD

PTSD is generally regarded as something that only results from being in a war. In fact, trauma, and the long-term effects of it, can result from any significant, emotionally-charged event where helplessness was a factor. It can happen at any age, and can result in flashbacks, nightmares, and many unwanted behaviours. Online hypnotherapy can help you change the traumatic memory, from something that feels like it’s still happening, to something that happened in the past and is now over.

Hypnotherapy Explained

For many years, severe anxiety-based conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic memories were considered treatable only through long, painful exposure therapy.  Many treatments involved talking about the traumatic event, which often just helped to embed the trauma even further. Many trauma cases weren’t considered treatable at all, and people simply had to live with the long-term effects such as nightmares, flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, avoidance and anxiety.

There is now a comfortable, effective treatment that can greatly reduce, and even remove, traumatic symptoms quickly. The Rewind Technique is a tried-and-tested approach to treating traumatic memories and PTSD, and can help to make profound changes quickly, without any need to talk about the cause.

You don’t need to talk about the cause of trauma

Many people with trauma and PTSD have been treated using approaches which drag them back through the experience again; a highly unpleasant thing to have to do.

This doesn’t happen with the Rewind Technique.

If you do remember the traumatic memory, or know the cause of the fear or bewildering feelings, you don’t need to talk about it if you don’t want to. I don’t need to know anything, so you don’t need to tell me, or say anything out loud. All you need to do is to relax and follow my easy instructions, and you will make the change you want to make easily and effortlessly.

Research results for the Rewind Technique for phobias and trauma

Although research into the Rewind Technique is still in its infancy, one study carried out by the Human Givens Institute in the UK showed the following results:

Study size: 30 people

  • 40% of clients rated rewind as extremely successful.
  • 53% rated it as successful.
  • 7% rated it as acceptable.

No-one rated the Rewind Technique poor or as a failure.

Prior to rewind, on average clients rated their wellbeing as 12 out of 50.
7 – 10 days after treatment, the average score was 30.3 out of 50.
3 – 6 months later, the average score was 32.2.
This represents an improvement of 167.4% on their original ratings.

A 4-year study carried out within NOVA (National Organisation for Victim Assistance – part of the Barnardo’s charity) showed similarly impressive results:
Study size: 47 people, 27 (57%) of whom were treated with Rewind alone.
26 would have met the criteria for PTSD.
After treatment, none of the 47 people treated met the criteria for PTSD.
There was also a significant reduction of all sub-symptoms associated with PTSD. Five categories had zero reports after treatment.

Fear of driving

“My sessions with Pat were amazing. Pat made me feel welcome, she stopped me feeling silly about my fear and was incredibly positive that together we could tackle it. Pat has a wonderful way of explaining everything, so I felt utterly safe and completely in control of myself. I did not feel vulnerable and that is testament to Pat and her lovely way.

I felt completely relaxed, to the point that afterwards, I didn’t walk home, I floated! Incredibly and quite miraculously, I was amazed to find a complete shift in my mind-set about cars and driving, even after the first session. The second session opened my eyes to my problem and made me understand myself. It took away the fear. This was an absolute gift.”
