Pain control and pain management
Chronic pain is pain that you’ve had for more than 12 weeks, and usually continues long after the original injury has healed. Pain-killers are often prescribed for chronic pain, but these often don’t help much, can have unwanted side-effects, and whatever help they do give may decrease over time. If you’ve tried everything else – what about hypnotherapy?

Pain management and control online hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy for pain management and control can help to control and reduce chronic pain.
Is it for you?
- You must have been diagnosed by a medical professional and they have prescribed or advised pain medication or pain management.
- You want to be pain-free and there’s no benefit in keeping the pain.
- You’ll need to be willing to stop doing whatever is causing the problem (and the cause might not be what you’re expecting)
- You will put into practice any aftercare advice.
- After the session, you will seek your medical professional’s advice on any issues regarding medication & ongoing diagnosis
What is the point of pain?
We all need the sensation of pain to keep us safe. It’s a powerful warning that something is wrong, and that we need to stop doing whatever we’re doing, RIGHT NOW, to stop any further damage.
But sometimes that pain hangs on, even when the right action has been taken and any necessary healing has taken place. Often there’s no physical reason for it; and if there was a physical reason for it – once you’ve done everything you can to address it, why do you still need that pain? What purpose is it serving, other than as a reminder about something you know about already? If you’ve been prescribed painkillers by your doctor to control your pain, then clearly the pain message is not needed.
By now, you might think that further pain control is impossible, that there’s nothing else you can do, and you just have to live with pain. This is when most people come to hypnotherapy.
If you’ve tried everything else for pain control, why not try hypnotherapy? It won’t do any harm, and, by now, you probably feel you haven’t much to lose. Apart from your pain, of course..
Pain and your unconscious mind
Hypnotherapy works directly with your unconscious mind to reduce and delete any of those old pain messages that are simply not needed any more. I don’t make it happen – I just act as a guide. You and your unconscious will make it happen if we all agree the pain is not helpful any more, and you do all the work.
The pain control methodology I use is very relaxing, and i think you’ll find it interesting. We’ll first talk about your pain, and what you want from your pain control hypnotherapy. Your unconscious mind will ultimately decide whether the unwanted pain serves no positive purpose. Once it understands and agrees that the pain really isn’t helpful any more, the pain might change or reduce.
Pain control: easy techniques, self-hypnosis and hypnotherapy can all help
I can also teach you self-hypnosis to control any remaining pain, and some easy techniques that can also help to manage it. If your doctor is suggesting painkillers, whatever that pain is telling you can’t be that important. Pain control hypnotherapy can help you reduce outdated unnecessary pain, or maybe even help you to let it go, so you can get on with life.
If you’re ready to try something new for your chronic pain -
and would like to find out how online hypnotherapy could help -
Try these easy techniques at home for your pain.
Dial down your pain
- Sit down, close your eyes and relax.
- Imagine a dial in front of you, going from 0 to 10.
- Notice where that dial is right now – that’s your current pain level.
- Ask your unconscious mind to help you turn your pain down.
- Reach out your hand and physically turn that dial down.
- Take your time. If it sticks, ask your unconscious mind to let you turn it down a bit more.
- Turn it down as far as it will go, and then open your eyes.
- Notice how the pain feels now.
Change the shape and colour of your pain
- Sit down, close your eyes and relax.
- Just focus on your pain for a moment, and notice its shape and colour.
- Change the shape. Change the colour to one of your favourites..
- Change the edge of the shape to something soft and gentle.
- Shrink it down and make it really small.
- Move that tiny object to your palm and throw it out of the window.
- Or move it to the end of your foot and kick it far away.
- Open your eyes and see how that pain feels now.
