Hypnotherapy has hit the celebrity heights! Katy Perry is contemplating using hypnotherapy in her new song about getting over an ex
Her great new song is called Never Really Over. It’s about trying to get over an ex, and includes the line “I guess I could try hypnotherapy, I gotta rewire this brain.”
I wonder if she has tried hypnotherapy to rewire her brain? Because hypnotherapy really can make a difference to this sort of obsessive thinking, and help to draw e line under it.
Constantly thinking about a highly-charged situation keeps all the emotional, traumatic memories in the NOW. It can become almost like an addiction. You want to stop doing it, but just don’t know how. You really want to move on, and to stop thinking about your ex, yet find yourself doing just that, all the time, over and over.
- you think about the break-up obsessively, wondering what you could have done differently
- you try to move on, find someone new, but keep comparing them to your ex.
- you keep checking their facebook page to see what they’re doing, who they’re with
- you keep hearing songs that brings up old memories and makes you feel bad.
Change how you feel
Hypnotherapy can help you change how you feel about your ex, and to stop the obsessive thinking in its tracks. It won’t make you forget what happened, but will help you to feel differently about what happened and your ex, allowing you to move on with your life.
Feel better about yourself.
Hypnotherapy can also help you feel much better about yourself. Using lots of different techniques, you can build up your self-belief and self-esteem, so that you can get out there again with confidence.
Is it maybe a bit of an over-reaction?
Oddly, sometimes your reaction can seem bigger or more emotional than it seems to warrant. It might be that, actually, you’d gone off your ex long before the break-up, and you were even thinking of leaving the relationship yourself. But you still feel terrible about it. Why?
Hypnotherapy can help you delve a little deeper, and discover why you feel the way you do.
Sometimes the reason is rooted in the past. It’s like a light-switch was installed, back in the day, and left in the ‘off’ position. Then something happens which triggers that switch to ‘on’, and you might have totally unexpected or random feelings or thoughts. Once you understand why you feel that way, you can turn that light switch off for good.
Wherever you are, whatever the situation, hypnotherapy could help you get over that ex and the break-up. Rewire your brain, metaphorically anyway. Get in touch with your nearest hypnotherapist now to find out more.
